Do not sell your vote because of bags of rice and money — Prophet Muideen Kasali
ADO-EKITI A blind cleric, Prophet Muideen Kasali, has urged Nigerian electorates to shun all tempting carrots dangled before them by the money bags during the forthcoming elections.
Kasali, who is the General Overseer of the Hour of Mercy Prayer Ministry Worldwide (Oke Alaseyori), spoke during a five-day open air crusade which held at Odo-Owa Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti state.
He warned against trading off the countrys Gods will for monetary and material gains in the forthcoming general election and tasked politicians, the electorate, electoral body and all stakeholders in the election to be thorough in their conduct to allow Gods divine plans for our nation.
In order to make this happen, he said the incidence of vote buying and selling, violence, fraud or any form and other unwholesome activities that usually characterised elections in Nigeria must be avoided, saying that what should be the focus of all Nigerians, who are ready to participate in the electoral process, is to vote according to the conscience for the fulfilment of Gods purpose for the citizenry.
According to him, During the polls, our people must do away with tendencies that could make us unconsciously subvert the will, purpose and plans of God for our people and nation.
People must not sell or buy votes. Vote buying and other voting inducement are not good for the system. Your vote is your conscience. Vote for any party or candidate your conscience directed you to vote for.
Dont collect money, cloth, rice and other stuff that can make you act against your conscience during the election.
On the crusade that brought him to the town, the man of God said: God directed us to seek His face on behalf of Ekiti and put people in the leadership position under His protection.
We had the privilege of praying for the traditional rulers and their wives (Oloris) as well as the people of the state in general
The Olowa of Odo-Owa Ekiti, Oba Gideon Adesola Oyerinola said the coming of Prophet Kasali to the town was remarkable as it coincided with the annual January meeting of the members of Majority Obas of Ekiti Land (MOSEL) of which he is the chairman.
According to the monarch, the forum always dedicates the third Thursday of January every year to pray to God for his direction, protection and peace for the communities, and their subjects in the New Year.
